OHVALE UK

CUP

The inaugural Ohvale UK Cup was started in 2020 by the British Mini Bike Championship (BMB) and Peter Hickman, concentrating on the 110cc class. Both share a passion for helping develop and promote young road racing talent here in the UK. Read all about how Pete got involved with the Ohvale brand at Ohvale UK About Us.

The 110cc Ohvale UK Cup is the entry level race series for riders between 8 and 12 years of age. The bikes are either Automatic transmission or 4 speed Manual. For full specification and prices on all our bikes visit – Ohvale Bikes

2021 saw the Ohvale UK Cup expand to include a 160cc class which is for riders 10 (or turning 10 within the year) to 14 year olds.  A perfect progression for the faster riders from the 110 class and also opening up the opportunity to be involved with Ohvale to the slightly older riders that were not eligible before. With the FIM 160 MiniGP World Series announced at the same time the 160 grids boasted up to 26 riders at times during the year.

In 2024 the championship grew again to include the 190 FIM MiniGP World Series for riders between 12 and 16. Meaning Ohvale UK and BMB now have a dedicated Ohvale series for riders from 8 to 16 across the three classes.

The series is a British Championship heading to all parts of the UK  generally utilising kart tracks to race on. Tracks include Pembrey in Wales, Rowrah in Cumbria, Whilton Mill in Northampton and Teesside Autodrome in Durham to name just a few.

A typical race weekend consists of 2 practice sessions, qualifying and race 1 on Saturday followed by a warm up session and 2 races on the Sunday. Riders sometimes also have the option of a Friday test day depending on the track.

Riders can receive instruction from BSB riders, BMB trainers and seasoned members of the Motorcycle Media on and off the track, encompassing safety procedures, race craft & media training.

Overall it’s an exciting time for young British talent!
